Immunisations and Travel Medicine

For patients requiring travel vaccinations for overseas travel, you will need to discuss your travel medicine health requirements with one of our doctors.

Your doctor may need to order blood tests or review past immunisation records in order to recommend the most appropriate vaccination schedule. Please bring all of your records of any previous immunisations with you to the appointment.

Your doctor will be able to print you a travel health plan.

The most common vaccinations may be purchased at our centre at competitive prices.  Scripts will be provided for less common vaccinations such as Rabies and Japanese encephalitis;  these may then be sourced from a pharmacy.  It is important to come and see us 4-6 weeks prior to departure as immunisations may take several weeks to be effective and some require multiple doses.

Some countries require a Yellow Fever vaccination and require you to provide a vaccination certificate to enter and leave a Yellow Fever declared country.

The World Health Organisation recommends that a single dose of yellow fever vaccine provides life-long immunity to the disease.

Como GP is a fully accredited Yellow Fever vaccination clinic and you will be issued with a Yellow Fever certificate.
